Well let me start of with this... What a Gem. If you are into harem anime, this is a staple to add to your watch list. With 4 seasons and another possibly in the works, it's sure to entertain. With strong undertones of domestic violence, gratuitous explosions, dominatrix like behaviors, and a love triangle...Wait maybe it's a quad, or maybe a pentagon, hell it might be a love octagon. I will just put it this way, the protagonist Saito is VERY POPULAR with the ladies, and much to the dismay of his new master Louise "the Zero". The premise of the series is that Saito is summoned from earth by Louise, a nobel and a mage, to another world and into the nation of Halkeginia and kingdom of Tristain to become her "familiar" a type of magical servant. Saito is shocked as all hell when he finds all this out, and immediately starts trying to figure out exactly how he is going to get home. In the meantime all sorts of bat-shit crazy goes on, such as Louise making Saito dress her, do her laundry, and make her food. Saito regularly gets beaten with a horse whip when he misbehaves, or hit with an explosion by Louise as that is the only spell she is good at.

Among Saitos various duties the only one he takes seriously is protecting Louise. When Saito arrived in Halkeginia he found a mysterious runic brand burnt into his hand, the reads "Gundolf". I will leave the full meaning and explanation to those that wish to watch the show, but the short of it, is that he is now a master of anything that is made for war, or could be used as a weapon, and even has a magic taking sword named Derfflinger or "Derf" for short. Louise later turns out to be one of the legendary void mages (a mage with the power to destroy entire armies, with a single incantation) , and Saito becomes a knight of the realm, goes on adventures, and makes a metric shit-ton of friends.

Lots of action, comedy, awkward moments, epic wars, embarrassment, and like I said earlier gratuitous domestic violence. We here at Animateyourlife give it a 9/10, and a giant metaphorical slap in the face to Louise, who is an absolute sadistic nightmare. Thats right Louise we're talking about you, you pink haired bitch! Give the Saito a break, he loves YOU. Anyway as always, there is way too much to explain in a single blog post, so stop over to the ANIME page and click the link/button to start watching for yourselves, because we are quite frankly tired of typing and would rather be watching too!
